More Than Cosmetic
Vein disease is more than a cosmetic problem
Many people think varicose veins are simply part of getting older. Sometimes they are primarily cosmetic. But often they’re a sign that the veins aren’t returning blood to your heart the way they should.
Over time, that extra pressure can lead to:
- Chronic swelling
- Pain or heaviness
- Skin discoloration and thickening
- Recurrent cellulitis
- Venous ulcers
- Difficulty healing wounds
The good news is that many of these problems are treatable, and treating them early can make a significant difference in your long-term health.

What We Treat
Conditions we treat
Chronic Venous Insufficiency
When the valves in your veins stop working properly, blood pools in the legs instead of returning to the heart. This is one of the most common causes of leg swelling, heaviness, skin changes, and venous ulcers.
Varicose Veins
Large, twisted veins that may cause aching, burning, itching, heaviness, swelling, or discomfort. While sometimes cosmetic, they can also be a sign of underlying venous disease.
Chronic Leg Swelling & Lymphedema
When the valves in your veins stop working properly, blood pools in the legs instead of returning to the heart. This is one of the most common causes of leg swelling, heaviness, skin changes, and venous ulcers.
Venous Leg Ulcers
Open wounds that develop because blood isn’t circulating properly through the veins. Treating the wound alone isn’t enough — the underlying vein disease must also be addressed.
Spider Veins
Small visible veins near the surface of the skin. Although often cosmetic, they can occasionally indicate deeper venous problems.
Recurrent Cellulitis
Repeated skin infections are often linked to chronic swelling or poor circulation. Treating the underlying problem can help reduce future infections.
Skin Changes
Darkening, thickening, itching, or hardening of the skin around the lower legs may be early signs of chronic vein disease and shouldn’t be ignored.
Why DFS Medical Is Different
Everything under one roof
Many vein clinics focus almost exclusively on cosmetic vein treatments. Many wound clinics never evaluate the veins at all. At DFS Medical, we bring wound care, vascular evaluation, vein treatment, and lymphedema care together under one roof — because these conditions are deeply connected.
Modern & Minimally Invasive
Treatment options
We offer advanced treatments designed to improve circulation, reduce symptoms, and help you return to your normal activities with minimal downtime.
